May 1999’s block was a 10 inch Sister’s Choice.

 
The finished block measures 10 inches square.
(10 1/2 inches unfinished).

Instructions:  Use good quality, 100% cotton prewashed fabrics.

  1. Cut eight 2 1/2 inch squares from white.
  2. Cut nine 2 1/2 inch squares from a pastel floral print.
  3. Cut four 2 7/8 inch squares from white.  Cut these on the diagonal to make a total of eight triangles.
  4. Cut four 2 7/8 inch squares from the pastel floral print.  Cut these on the diagonal to make a total of eight triangles.
  5. Sew the floral triangles to the white triangles to form eight 2 1/2 inch squares.
Or . . .
  1. Cut four 2 7/8 inch squares from white.
  2. Cut four 2 7/8 inch squares from the pastel floral print.
  3. Layer a white 2 7/8 inch square on a floral 2 7/8 inch square and draw a line on the diagonal.  Sew 1/4 inch from each side of the line, then cut along the drawn line.
  1. Press the seam toward the floral print.
Assembly
  1. Sew squares into strips, as shown.
  2. Sew the strips together to form the block.
Your completed block will measure 10 1/2 inches.
Ten inches after sewn into a quilt!
