November 1998’s block was a Ribbon Star.

The finished block measures 9 inches square (9 1/2 inches unfinished).

  1. Cut one 3 1/2 inch center square fom a jewel tone fabric.

  1. Cut four 3 7/8 inch squares from a white or very light fabric.

  2. Cut four 3 7/8 inch squares from jewel tone fabric.

  3. Cut these squares in half on the diagonal to make eight light-colored triangles and eight jewel tone triangles.
Assembly

  1. Assemble the triangles by sewing each dark to a light to form squares.

  2. Sew your squares together to form the block.

    Your finished (unfinished) block should measure 9 1/2 inches.  Be sure to leave the seam allowance on the block, DO NOT cut it to the nine inch finished size -- as the “finished” measurement represents the block size after it is sewn into a quilt top.
