An alternative way to create the corner blocks would be to place the tan 3 3/8 inch squares over the colored 3 3/8 inch squares and draw a diagonal line. Sew 1/4 of an inch on each side of the line, then cut them apart along the line you drew and press them open. |

Your finished (unfinished) block should measure eight inches. Be sure to leave the seam allowance on the block, DO NOT cut it to the 7 1/2 inch finished size -- as the “finished” measurement represents the block size after it is sewn into a quilt top. | |
