June 2000’s block was Louisiana.

Instructions:  Use good quality, 100% cotton prewashed fabrics.

Use white-on-white fabric for the light rectangle, a contrasting color for the small triangles, and a floral print for the large “pinwheel” triangles.

1. Cut four 3 ¹/₂ by 6 ¹/₂ inch rectangles from the white-on-white.
2. Cut four 3 ⁷/₈ inch squares from the contrasting fabric; cut diagonally to form triangles.
3. Cut one 7 ¹/₄ inch square from the floral fabric and cut it both ways on the diagonal to form four triangles.
4. Sew the long edge of the contrasting triangles to the short edges of the floral triangles. You will have four rectangles.

5. Sew these rectangles to the white-on-white rectangles.

6. Connect the squares as shown in the graphic.

Your completed unfinished block will measure 12 ¹/₂ inches.

Twelve inches after sewn into a quilt!
